Walk to Everything: A Weekend in Beverly Center–Miracle Mile

There’s a kind of luxury that has nothing to do with square footage. It’s the luxury of leaving your car in the garage and stepping out your front door to find the best of Los Angeles waiting on foot. That’s the quiet magic of 125 S Sweetzer Avenue, Penthouse 2A, a top-floor home in the heart of Beverly Center–Miracle Mile, where the whole city feels like your neighborhood.

This weekend is the perfect excuse to experience it. Between a beloved Sunday market, world-class museums, a car-free street festival up the road, and the World Cup Final on every screen in town, there’s a full day waiting outside this door, and an open house to end it on.

Everything Within a Stroll

Start where the locals do. The Grove and the Original Farmers Market at 3rd and Fairfax are just a few blocks away, with weekend-morning coffee, fresh produce, and that easy energy that makes this pocket of LA feel like a small town inside a big city. Head the other direction and West 3rd Street rewards you with independent boutiques and some of the best cafe tables in the city, while Erewhon and the Beverly Center cover everything from the everyday to the indulgent.

For a slower afternoon, Museum Row is practically at the end of the block. Within about half a mile along Wilshire you’ll find LACMA, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, the La Brea Tar Pits, and the Petersen Automotive Museum, an entire cultural district you can reach without ever touching the freeway. And on Sundays, the Melrose Trading Post at Fairfax High brings out vintage treasures, local makers, and live music about a mile north.

When you want more, it’s all close. Beverly Hills and West Hollywood are minutes away, and the beach is a twenty-minute drive. From this penthouse, going out rarely means going far.

This Sunday: CicLAvia Rolls Into the Hollywoods

If you’re feeling adventurous, point your bike north. CicLAvia, Meet the Hollywoods returns Sunday, July 19, from 9am to 4pm, closing Hollywood Boulevard, Highland Avenue, and Santa Monica Boulevard to cars so the streets belong to walkers, cyclists, and skaters for the day. The West Hollywood hub sits on Santa Monica Boulevard near San Vicente, a short ride from the neighborhood. One practical note if you’re driving in from the north: those streets will be closed for the event, so give yourself extra time or come up from the south.

Where to Watch the World Cup Final

It all happens Sunday, July 19, with the World Cup Final kicking off at noon Pacific. The match is across the country at MetLife Stadium, but Los Angeles will be watching together. CicLAvia is hosting an official Final watch party at the Hollywood Walk of Fame hub, right on the route. Closer to home, the sports-friendly spots around the Fairfax District, The Grove, and West Hollywood will have the game on and the energy up. Or picture the version that comes with this address: the match on the screen, friends on a furnished rooftop sky deck, and the LA skyline stretched out around you.

After the Final Whistle, Come See It for Yourself

Here’s the beautiful part about the timing. The final wraps up around 2pm, right before my Sunday open house begins. So make a day of it. Catch the market, the museums, the match, then come up to the top floor and see the home at the center of it all.

Open House: Saturday, July 18 from 2 to 4 PM and Sunday, July 19 from 3 to 5 PM. 125 S Sweetzer Avenue, Penthouse 2A, Los Angeles, CA 90048. 3 Bed, 2 Bath, 1,210 Sq Ft top-floor penthouse offered at $1,095,000. See the full photo tour and details at www.125SSweetzer.com.
